Week One Day 2-3

Whew!  Lifting.  Today was a busy day for me, still on my insane high from yesterday. Yesterday I did my run with training partner. I was supposed to do 30 min of Zone 1-2, but I ended up going maybe up to Zone 3, and did 60 min. but that was because on Thrusday...I will be moving! and won't have time to do my 30 min run, unless I do it in the AM which I just don't see happening. So i went a bit longer yesterday.

Today I had to do my lifting scheduled. I decided that since I really didn't make it past 30 min in the gym on Monday and came home and did my TRX anyway, I thought I would do the req 8 exercises for 3 sets of 20 on the TRX with some modifications.  I replaced the step ups with the single high knee jumps. WOW!!! Kicked my butt!  Felt awesome, I only did 55 min worth, but I decided that with the way I was feeling, I was not going for a 4th set. I'll add that next week and ease into it a bit since my schedule is off a bit for moving. I loved doing the bent elbow lat pull downs, I could really feel the burn, going to be a great exercises for making my swimming better!

On a side note! I offically got my keys today for my new place!!! I will be cleaning and beginning moving stuff in tomorrow!!! So Excited!!

Day One!

Hmmmm...so today was day one of training. I had to switch it up just a bit, as I am running tomorrow and can't swim yet. So I lifted. I did the workout that was in the book...it took me 30 mins... but it's supposed to go 1 hour and 15 min. So maybe I didn't lift hard enough? But, I wanted to go easy with my back so I didn't over do it, especially with all the packing, moving, etc.  So I came home and did TRX training also for another 40 min. It ROCKED! I felt great!  I'm a bit tired and sore, but that could be because of all my packing. Today was a good day also because, I don't have to open up another water account and pay an insane deposit!  And, I also found out that I was approved for my Clinical Ladder IV at work today!  YEAH!!!!  Happy Dance!!

The JOURNEY, is the Reward!

One of my favorite quotes which is very fitting because starting tomorrow, I begin my journey toward training for my first IRONMAN race. I will be competing in the AZ IRONMAN this coming Nov. 20th, 2011.  That's 140.6 Miles:   2.4 Mile Swim, 112 Mile Bike, and 26.2 Mile Run.   I look forward to keeping a journal/blog of my "journey" so I can say...." I remember when I did...."   Let the Journey begin!  :)
